Whitehouse Lighting And Electrical – Shipping Policy
Last updated: 16 August 2026
At Whitehouse Lighting And Electrical, we aim to deliver every order quickly, safely and transparently.
This Shipping Policy explains how orders are processed, dispatched, collected and delivered. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
Nothing in this Shipping Policy limits any right available to a consumer under applicable South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).
1. Shipping Origin
Orders are dispatched or collected from:
Whitehouse Lighting And Electrical
Cnr Paul Kruger Street & Ebrahim Daya Street
Trichardt, Secunda
Mpumalanga, 2302
South Africa
2. Order Processing & Dispatch
Orders are prepared for dispatch once:
-
payment has been successfully received or confirmed;
-
stock availability has been confirmed; and
-
any information reasonably required to fulfil the order has been received.
Same-Day Dispatch
Eligible in-stock orders placed from Monday to Friday before 15:00 with confirmed payment are ordinarily dispatched on the same working day.
Orders placed:
-
after 15:00;
-
over weekends; or
-
on South African public holidays
are ordinarily processed on the next working day.
Same-day dispatch is a service target and may occasionally be affected by courier collection cut-off times, unusually high order volumes, stock verification, payment delays or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Dispatch time is not the same as delivery time.
Once an order has been dispatched, we will ordinarily provide:
-
a tracking number; and
-
a tracking link where available from the courier.
If we become aware of a material delay affecting your order, we will take reasonable steps to notify you and assist with an appropriate solution.
3. Local Collection
Customers may select collection from our Trichardt store where this option is available.
Collection Address:

Friday: 08:30 – 17:00
Friday closure: 12:00 – 14:00

Sunday & Public Holidays: Closed
Please wait until we confirm that your order is ready for collection before arriving at the store.
We may reasonably request your order number or other information required to identify the order before releasing goods.
4. Customer-Appointed Courier
You may arrange for your own courier or transport provider to collect an order from our premises.
After placing your order, please contact:
orders@whitehouselightingandelectrical.co.za
so that collection can be coordinated.
Where you independently appoint a courier that was not selected, contracted or supplied by Whitehouse Lighting And Electrical, that courier will generally be treated as your nominated collection agent once the goods have been handed over to it, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
We recommend ensuring that your chosen courier provides appropriate tracking and transit insurance.
This does not remove any statutory rights you may have relating to defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or non-conforming goods.
5. Domestic Shipping – South Africa
We deliver throughout South Africa to serviceable physical addresses.
Estimated Delivery Times
Delivery normally takes approximately 1–6 working days after dispatch.
Typical delivery estimates are:
Main centres: approximately 1–3 working days
Outlying and regional areas: approximately 2–6 working days
These periods are estimates rather than absolute guarantees.
Delivery times may be affected by factors such as:
-
delivery location;
-
courier schedules;
-
weather conditions;
-
road or transport disruptions;
-
peak trading periods;
-
public holidays; or
-
circumstances reasonably outside our control.
We will nevertheless comply with any mandatory delivery obligations imposed by applicable South African law.
6. Shipping Charges
Standard Orders
Orders of R1,500 or more: FREE standard delivery
Orders below R1,500: R120 flat-rate standard delivery
Free delivery applies to qualifying standard-size domestic orders unless otherwise stated.
Oversized, Heavy & Special-Freight Products
Certain products may require specialised transport because of their:
-
weight;
-
dimensions;
-
value;
-
fragility;
-
hazardous or controlled shipping requirements; or
-
destination.
Examples may include certain solar equipment, batteries, large fittings, cable quantities or other bulky products.
These products may attract an additional delivery charge even where the order value exceeds R1,500.
Where a special freight charge cannot reasonably be calculated automatically at checkout, we will contact you with the applicable delivery charge before finalising or accepting the affected order on that basis.
You will have the opportunity to accept the additional delivery charge.
If you do not accept it and we cannot fulfil the order using the delivery charge originally presented to you, the affected order may be cancelled and any applicable payment refunded.
We will not impose an undisclosed additional delivery charge after concluding the transaction without your agreement.
7. Courier Partners
Domestic deliveries are generally arranged through the Bob Go courier network.
Depending on the destination, parcel type and service selected, courier providers may include:
-
The Courier Guy;
-
RAM;
-
Fastway;
-
Aramex; and
-
other courier providers available through our logistics network.
The courier selected for an individual shipment may vary according to destination, parcel dimensions, service availability and operational requirements.
Whitehouse Lighting And Electrical reserves the right to select an appropriate courier for an order unless a specific delivery arrangement has been agreed.
8. Delivery Addresses
Standard courier deliveries must be made to a serviceable physical address.
We do not ordinarily deliver to P.O. Boxes.
Please provide:
-
a complete street address;
-
suburb or area;
-
city or town;
-
postal code;
-
recipient's name; and
-
a valid telephone number.
Someone should be available at the delivery address to receive the parcel where the courier requires acknowledgement of delivery.
9. Tracking Your Order
Once your parcel has been dispatched, we will ordinarily send tracking information using the contact information associated with your order.
Tracking information is provided by the applicable courier and may not update immediately after collection.
If there has been no tracking movement within approximately 72 hours after dispatch, please contact:
orders@whitehouselightingandelectrical.co.za
We will follow up with the applicable courier.
10. Delivery & Risk
Where Whitehouse Lighting And Electrical arranges the courier, we remain responsible for the shipment until it has been delivered in accordance with the agreed delivery arrangement, subject to applicable law.
A parcel showing as “dispatched” or “with courier” does not by itself transfer the risk of loss to the customer.
If a parcel arranged by us is lost or materially damaged before delivery, please contact us so that we can investigate the shipment and provide the appropriate remedy.
Different arrangements may apply where you independently appoint your own courier to collect the goods as described in section 4.
11. Delivery Delays
We work with courier providers to deliver orders within the estimated periods shown above.
Occasional delays may nevertheless occur.
If your parcel is delayed, we will take reasonable steps to:
-
investigate the delay;
-
follow up with the courier;
-
keep you appropriately informed; and
-
provide any remedy required by applicable law.
ECTA Online-Order Protection
For qualifying electronic transactions, section 46 of ECTA requires a supplier to execute an order within 30 days after receiving the order unless the parties have agreed otherwise.
Where the supplier fails to execute the order within 30 days or within another agreed period, ECTA provides the consumer with the right to cancel the agreement on seven days' written notice.
If we are unable to perform because ordered goods are unavailable, we will notify you and process the applicable refund in accordance with ECTA and other applicable law.
Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002
12. Damaged Parcels
Please inspect your parcel as soon as reasonably possible after receiving it.
If the parcel or product appears damaged, contact us promptly at:
orders@whitehouselightingandelectrical.co.za
Please provide, where reasonably possible:
-
your order number;
-
photographs of the external courier packaging;
-
photographs of any damaged packaging inside the parcel;
-
photographs of the affected product; and
-
a short description of the damage.
For visible courier damage, we encourage customers to contact us within 48 hours because prompt notification assists us in investigating the shipment with the courier.
The 48-hour request is not a limitation of your statutory rights.
Failure to report visible damage within 48 hours does not automatically remove any right you may have under the CPA, ECTA or other applicable South African law.
Returns, replacements and refunds are handled in accordance with our:
13. Lost or Missing Parcels
If tracking indicates that a parcel may be lost, or you have not received an order that the courier records as delivered, please contact us promptly.
We may need to investigate with the courier and may reasonably request information such as:
-
your order number;
-
confirmation of your delivery address;
-
information about who was present at the delivery location; or
-
other information reasonably necessary to investigate the delivery.
Where a shipment arranged by Whitehouse Lighting And Electrical is confirmed lost before valid delivery, we will provide the appropriate replacement, refund or other remedy in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction.
14. Incorrect Deliveries
If you receive:
-
the wrong product;
-
an incorrect quantity;
-
a product materially different from what was ordered; or
-
another customer's parcel,
please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Do not install, modify or use an incorrectly supplied product if you intend to return it.
Where the error is ours, the return or correction will be handled without improperly transferring our return costs to you.
15. Failed Delivery Attempts
You are responsible for providing accurate and complete delivery information.
If a delivery fails because:
-
an incorrect address was supplied;
-
no authorised person is available to receive the parcel;
-
the customer cannot be contacted; or
-
the customer requested an address change after dispatch,
the courier may return the parcel to us.
Where legally permissible, reasonable additional courier costs arising directly from customer-provided incorrect information or unsuccessful delivery attempts may be charged before redelivery.
We will disclose and agree any applicable redelivery charge before arranging a further delivery.
This does not apply where the failed delivery resulted from our error or that of the courier appointed by us.
16. Address Changes After Dispatch
Please check your delivery address carefully before submitting an order.
If you need to change the address, contact us as soon as possible.
We cannot guarantee that a delivery address can be changed once a parcel has been collected by the courier.
Courier rerouting charges may apply where:
-
the courier permits the change;
-
an additional charge is actually incurred; and
-
you agree to that charge where required.
17. International Shipping
Whitehouse Lighting And Electrical does not currently offer standard international shipping through our online checkout.
Customers outside South Africa may contact us to discuss a possible collection or international courier arrangement.
Where practical, we may assist by obtaining a quotation from a courier such as Aramex.
Any international shipment must be separately agreed before dispatch.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, the customer is responsible for applicable:
-
international shipping charges;
-
customs duties;
-
import VAT or taxes;
-
customs-clearance charges; and
-
other destination-country fees.
Alternatively, you may appoint your own international courier to collect the order from our store.
Customers are responsible for checking whether the products may legally be imported, installed or used in the destination country.
No international shipment will be arranged until the relevant shipping terms and charges have been agreed.
18. Electrical, Battery & Solar Products
Certain electrical, solar, inverter and battery products may require specialised transportation because of:
-
size or weight;
-
battery chemistry;
-
courier restrictions;
-
dangerous-goods requirements; or
-
special handling requirements.
Standard courier rates or services may therefore not be available for every product.
Where special freight is required, the applicable arrangements will be communicated before the relevant order is finalised on that delivery basis.
19. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
Courier services can occasionally be affected by circumstances such as:
-
severe weather;
-
natural disasters;
-
widespread road closures;
-
civil unrest;
-
major telecommunications or electricity disruptions;
-
lawful industrial action; or
-
other exceptional circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We will take reasonable steps to mitigate delays and assist affected customers.
Nothing in this section removes cancellation, refund, delivery or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.
20. Returns Following Delivery
Shipping and delivery issues involving:
-
defective goods;
-
unwanted eligible goods;
-
exchanges;
-
warranty claims;
-
damaged products; or
-
statutory cooling-off rights
are further governed by our:
Our voluntary 30-day return policy operates in addition to applicable statutory rights.
21. Customer Responsibilities
To help us deliver your order successfully, please:
-
provide accurate contact and delivery information;
-
check your order confirmation;
-
monitor tracking information once dispatched;
-
ensure that someone can receive the parcel where necessary;
-
notify us promptly of delivery problems; and
-
retain relevant order and tracking information.
These responsibilities do not transfer to the customer any obligation, cost or risk that applicable South African law places on Whitehouse Lighting And Electrical.
22. Changes to This Shipping Policy
We may update this Shipping Policy to reflect changes to:
-
delivery services;
-
courier providers;
-
shipping rates;
-
operational requirements; or
-
applicable law.
The current version will be published with an updated revision date.
Changes will apply prospectively and will not retrospectively alter shipping terms already agreed for a completed order unless required by law or agreed with the customer.
