At Whitehouse Lighting & Electrical, we are committed to providing exceptional service and customer satisfaction. In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, No. 68 of 2008 (CPA), we offer a fair, transparent, and efficient returns and refund process to ensure your shopping experience is as smooth as possible.

1. Return Period
You have 30 days from the date of receiving your order to request a return, in line with Section 20 of the CPA.
To ensure eligibility, returns must be made within this period, and the items must meet the following criteria:
Condition of the Item:

  • The item must be unused and in the same condition as when you received it.
  • The item must not be damaged, altered, or show signs of wear/usage.

Packaging and Tags:

  • All original packaging, including boxes, bags, and wrapping, must be intact.
  • All tags, labels, and other protective coverings (e.g., plastic seals, product tags) must be attached and undamaged.

2. Eligibility for Returns
To qualify for a return:

  • The item must be unused and in the same condition you received it.
  • All original packaging, tags, and labels must be intact.
  • Notice of Return (email us or fill in the contact us form) .

If the item meets these criteria, please contact us at orders@whitehouselightingandelectrical.co.za to initiate the return process.
Returns will be accepted only with prior Notice & Approval. Items returned without approval cannot be processed.

Return shipping costs:

  • A flat rate of R120.00 will be charged for return shipping or must be shipped to us at your own cost. This must be paid before the courier is booked for pickup, and it is not deducted from your refund.

3. Return Process
Once your return is approved:

  • We will send you a return shipping label.
  • You will receive detailed instructions on how to return your item to us at:

Important:

  • Items returned without prior approval will not be accepted.
  • Please ensure your item is carefully packaged for return to prevent any damage during transit.

4. Damaged & Defective Products
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or not as described, please inspect the item immediately and contact us within 48 hours at orders@whitehouselightingandelectrical.co.za.
Under Section 56 of the CPA, you are entitled to return defective goods for a repair, replacement, or refund, at no cost to you.
Please email us and include clear photos of the item and packaging for us to assess the issue swiftly.

5. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are excluded from returns under Section 20(3) of the CPA:

  • Custom-cut materials (e.g., wire, tubing, cable lengths)
  • Custom-made or special-order items
  • Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases
  • Sale items or gift cards

If you are unsure about an item’s eligibility for return, please contact us before making a purchase.

6. Exchanges
If you need to exchange an item, the quickest way is to return the item and place a new order for the replacement. This ensures you get the product you want without delays.

7. Refunds
Once your returned item is received and inspected, we will:

  • Notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
  • If approved, the refund will be processed to your original payment method within 14 business days.
  • Please note that bank or card processing times may vary, and it may take a few days for the refund to appear on your statement.
